iXmatch Names Former Secretary of Labor Robert B. Reich to Board of Directors

Reich sees Great Potential in Web-Based Consultant Matching Service

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 30 - iXmatch.com today announced that Robert B. Reich has joined the company’s board of directors. iXmatch.com is an Internet startup that matches available information technology (IT) projects at leading corporations with qualified independent IT consultants via its Web site www.ixmatch.com. By changing the model for IT consulting hiring, both companies and consultants can lower costs, shorten the hiring cycle and better match skills to the projects.

From January 1993 to January 1997, Professor Reich served as the nation's 22nd Secretary of Labor. Currently, he is University Professor at Brandies University and Hexter Professor of Social and Economic Policy at its Heller Graduate School. Professor Reich is also chairman, co-founder, and national editor of the bi-weekly journal The American Prospect, and a director and co-founder of the Economic Policy Institute in Washington, D.C.

Additionally, he serves as a director of the Citizens Trust, a socially responsible mutual fund, and is a senior fellow at the Center for National Policy in Washington, D.C. Reich received a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College, Hanover, N.H., a master's degree from Oxford University, Oxford, England, where he was a Rhodes Scholar, and a juris doctorate from Yale Law School.

The iXmatch.com model closely reflects Reich's views on the changing face of today's IT labor market. “With an experienced management team in place and a proven business plan, iXmatch.com is well-positioned to challenge the traditional methods of finding and hiring consultants,” Reich said. “I'm excited to be a part of this company.”

“We are fortunate to have someone with Secretary Reich’s views on the changing face of today’s IT labor market,” said Prakash Puram, president and chief executive officer, iXmatch.com. “His knowledge of global social and economic policy and experience as U.S. Secretary of Labor makes him a valuable mentor for our company.”

With already more than 1,000 independent IT consultants in its database, iXmatch.com enables IT managers to shorten the consultant hiring process by matching a project's needs with the right IT consultants. iXmatch.com leverages Internet technology by efficiently locating, validating, and deploying human resources. The site also benefits independent IT consultants by helping them earn more money and rely on iXmatch.com for the more traditional marketing, billing and administrative tasks.
