LogicLibrary Partners With iXmatch to Deliver Industry's First Asset Harvester
iXmatch Will Power New Offering that Helps Customers Build Software Development Asset (SDA) Libraries Faster and More Consistently
PITTSBURGH and MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 29, 2003-- LogicLibrary(TM), a leading provider of software asset management tools, and iXmatch Inc., a leading provider of matching, searching, and analytics software, today announced an agreement to provide asset harvesting functionality for LogicLibrary customers. The combined solution enables a company to streamline the process of developing applications by building upon existing software development assets (SDAs). The LogicLibrary-iXmatch partnership makes it possible for development teams to quickly and cost-effectively create and search Logidex SDA libraries, accelerating enterprise application development and integration.
LogicLibrary is currently offering a professional services package, the Logidex Asset Harvesting Service, that uses iXmatch software to categorize enterprise SDAs--including source code, best practices and documentation--and extract asset metadata for inclusion in the Logidex library. iXmatch software will be fully integrated as an optional feature in Logidex later this year, offering automatic harvesting of asset metadata from various SDA sources.
"LogicLibrary's partnership with iXmatch allows Logidex(TM) users to rapidly extract valuable information from their SDAs for inclusion in the Logidex library," said John de Wit, senior vice president of global sales and professional services at LogicLibrary. "With iXmatch powering the Logidex Asset Harvester, LogicLibrary customers will be able to spend less time looking for assets and more time creating applications that will deliver exceptional customer value."
"Logidex is a perfect application for our software," said Dr. Sam Han, iXmatch's senior scientist. "In today's tight economy, the ability to quickly harvest and load software development assets into Logidex, so you understand what SDAs you have, where they are located and how they fit within your company's business, is critical to the success of application development and integration initiatives. As more developers use the combined LogicLibrary and iXmatch solution, the overall productivity of the software industry will go up, benefiting everyone."
LogicLibrary Logidex is an SDA mapping and discovery engine that represents inherently complex, enterprise application environments in a graphical, intuitive way. The Logidex SDA Library is an inventory of SDAs and their relationships to each other, the company's business processes and the technical infrastructure. SDAs can include legacy applications, components, XML schemas, database tables, patterns, frameworks and other key building blocks of application development. Software developers, architects and business analysts can search the SDA Library using the Logidex discovery engine, which offers capabilities ranging from simple keyword searches to sophisticated, model-based searches.
